# GitSyn — full description > GitSyn is a home for creative work while it is still being made. People start a project in one of 15 disciplines, share progress as it happens, and publish the work in parts — chapters, tracks, episodes, releases — that others can read, watch or listen to. It is free to join and runs in any web browser at https://app.gitsyn.cc. Website: https://gitsyn.cc App: https://app.gitsyn.cc Contact: dembaduk@gmail.com Short version of this file: https://gitsyn.cc/llms.txt Live list of public projects, writing and people: https://app.gitsyn.cc/llms.txt (in full: https://app.gitsyn.cc/llms-full.txt) ## What GitSyn is GitSyn is a platform for people who make things. Instead of a feed of finished results, it is organised around projects: a novel, an album, a film, a game, an app, a research paper, a course. A project has a discipline, a set of stages it moves through, and parts that are published one at a time. Followers see the work take shape, and finished parts can be read, watched or listened to on GitSyn. ## Who it is for Anyone who makes things — not only software developers. Post progress as it happens — drafts, sketches, voice notes, and short-lived Flashes. 3. Publish the parts. Release chapters, tracks, episodes or builds one at a time, or import a finished manuscript and let GitSyn split it into chapters. ## Features - Projects with disciplines, stages, formats and published parts; each part can carry the file it needs (a document, audio, an image). - A reader for chapters, articles and PDFs, with real pages and a page-turn. - Posts, voice notes and Flashes tied to the projects they belong to. - Collaborators on projects, direct messages, spaces and events for groups who make things together. - Profiles that lead with a person's projects. Follower and following counts can be hidden by their owner; projects cannot. - Syn, the built-in AI assistant, for talking through ideas, getting a second read, or getting unstuck. ## AI and Syn Syn is GitSyn's AI assistant; it is part of GitSyn, not a separate service or company. It is opt-in: it only starts after a person reads and accepts how it works. Posts label whether AI was involved. The rules for Syn and AI-assisted content are in the AI Transparency Policy: https://gitsyn.cc/ai-policy ## Principles - The work comes first: profiles lead with what someone has made. - AI out in the open: AI involvement is labelled and Syn is opt-in. - Your work stays yours: creators keep ownership of what they post (see the Terms and the Copyright Policy). - Safe by design: reporting, blocking and moderation are built in, with plain-language Community Guidelines and Child Safety Standards. ## Frequently asked questions ### What is GitSyn?
