Who it’s for

Built for every kind of making.

A novel isn’t shaped like an album, and a film isn’t shaped like an app. Every project on GitSyn starts from its discipline — with the stages, formats and parts that fit the work.

How it works

From first idea to finished work, in one place.

  1. Start a project

Pick a discipline, give it a title, and GitSyn sets up the stages your work moves through — from concept to published, demo to released.

  2. Share the process

Post progress as it happens: drafts, sketches, voice notes, short-lived Flashes. The people following along see the work take shape.

  3. Publish the parts

Release chapters, tracks, episodes or builds one at a time, or import a finished manuscript and let GitSyn split it for you.

The reader

Finished work deserves a proper reader.

Chapters, stories and PDFs open in a reader made for long-form reading — real pages, a page turn that feels like paper, and type set for comfort.

  • Page-turn reading for chapters, articles and PDF files.
  • Import a whole manuscript and split it into chapters in one step.
  • Attach what each part needs — a document, an audio file, an image.
Process

Show how it’s made, not just the result.

The interesting part of creative work is the middle. GitSyn gives it a place — and gives the people following along a reason to come back.

  • Posts and voice notes tied to the project they belong to.
  • Collaborators and messages for working with other people on the same project.
  • Spaces and events for groups who make things together.
Syn

An assistant that helps you think — and stays out of the credits.

Syn is the AI assistant built into GitSyn. Use it to talk through an idea, get a second read, or get unstuck. The work, and the decisions, stay yours.

  • Off until you turn it on. Syn only starts after you’ve read and accepted how it works.
  • AI involvement is labelled on posts, so readers know what they’re looking at.
  • Clear rules on what Syn may and may not be used for, in our AI policy.
Principles

What we won’t compromise on.

The work comes first

Profiles lead with what someone has made. Follower counts can be hidden; projects can’t — proof of work is the point.

AI, out in the open

When AI helped make something, that’s labelled. Syn is opt-in, and its limits are written down. Read the AI policy

Your work stays yours

You keep the rights to what you post. If someone uses your work without permission, there’s a clear way to report it. Copyright policy

Safe by design

Reporting, blocking and human moderation are built in, with community guidelines written in plain language. Community guidelines

Questions

The short answers.

What is GitSyn?

GitSyn is a home for creative work while it is still being made. You start a project, share progress as it happens, and publish the work in parts — chapters, tracks, episodes, releases — that people can read, watch or listen to. It runs in any web browser at app.gitsyn.cc.

Who is it for?

Anyone who makes things: writers, musicians, designers, illustrators, photographers, filmmakers, comic artists, podcasters, journalists, game developers, software developers, researchers, teachers, founders and community organisers. Projects start from one of 15 disciplines, each with its own stages and parts.

Is it free?

Yes. Creating an account, starting projects, posting, publishing parts, reading and messaging are free.

How is it different from Instagram, Behance, GitHub or LinkedIn?

Instagram is built around a feed of finished images; GitSyn is built around projects and the parts they are published in, including long-form writing and audio. Behance shows finished portfolio pieces; GitSyn shows work while it is being made, across every discipline. GitHub hosts and versions code; GitSyn is not version control — it is where you share and publish work of any kind, code included. LinkedIn centres careers and job titles; GitSyn profiles lead with what someone has made.

Your next project starts with a title.
